Simple Fall Vignette and Free Fall Printable

I think I may have mentioned once or twice already that my favorite time of year has arrived. Every year when Summer starts, my husband starts telling me that we’re one season closer to college football, and tell him to bite his tongue and quit wishing away the summer because I never want it to end. Then football starts, the air gets that first little hint of a chill and I’m like counting down the days until I can pull out all of the cozy things: boots, scarves, blankets, cable knit pillows…all of it! Long story short: fall is MY JAM!! Best time of the year. The end. So, today I’m so excited to be joining Kristen from Ella Claire to bring you a WHOLE LOT of simple, Fall decorating love.

I love this hop, because the purpose behind today is to bring you lots of simple ideas that you can recreate in your own house–complete with free printables. As Martha would say, “It’s a beautiful thing.”

If you’re like me, this time of year also brings what I like to refer to as “Mantel Envy.” I don’t have one (sad emoji faces). I long for a mantel to hang pretty things during the holidays and mostly just nap by the fire curled up in a blanket. Yes, like a cat. Anyway, no mantel to decorate, so we do what we can with what we’ve got around here, and in my efforts this year to keep things pared down and banish the clutter, to take the Fall to the kitchen table.

My favorite part about this: it was totally free. The best kind of decor, right? I switched out the plant I usually have in my cloche for this GINORMOUS pinecone I picked up from the side of the road on one of our summer road trips. Like literally, middle of nowhere California, we’re driving down the road and I start seeing pinecones the size of my head just begging to be picked up. My husband was not thrilled when I made him pull over to pick some of them up, but they’re SO cool! Then I added some turkey feathers that a sweet reader sent to me last year in an old olive oil jar, and an antler shed that was given to me by a friend. A fall candle, because you know, even if it’s still 90 degrees outside, it’s easy to pretend that it’s officially Fall if it smells like warm Pumpkin Nut Bread inside.

I put the print, which just simply sums up my feelings about the season,  in one of my favorite chunky, chippy frames (from Target a few years back), and my very, very favorite part (besides the free thing): I threw in my super fluffy pom pom garland. I think I’ve mentioned this stupid garland like 10,001 time here on the blog, but I just love it, and it reminds me of cozy fall sweaters and blankets–the little things I guess, right?

You can download the print below (just click on the links). I’ve made it in both landscape and portrait and it will print up to 16 x 20 (just save it and send it to your favorite photo center for printing).
