Spring is in the House | Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours

Today I’m so excited to be teaming up with Lindsay from White Buffalo Styling Company (and lot of other CRAZY talented bloggers) for the Spring edition of Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours. If you’re coming over from Sarah M. Dorsey’s beautiful home, welcome! For those who are new here, I live in Utah, where we’ve had ridiculously early spring weather (I’m not complaining), so Spring has been in full swing around our house for about a month now (see: lots of yard work) and today I’m going to take you on a little tour of some of the touches of spring around here–and we’ll be heavy on photos, light on commentary today ;)

Spring around here basically means clearing out the dark colors and heavy textures and swapping them for lots of green, lots of flowers (mostly fake because I kill things), and color, color, color–of course.

spring entryway

In the entryway, I basically just simplified. A cool thrifted bowl I found, filled with moss and other fillers–of course there are disco balls, and some cool old maps from my grandpa’s days in the Forest Service that I found in my grandparents’ basement.

After a recent little change up, one of my favorite furniture pieces moved over by our back door and is filled with lots of spring color and goodness. I made a wreath by clipping some branches off of one of my bushes and tying them to an embroidery hoop. It’s a little wonky, but imperfection means character around here.

More simplifying in the dining room with a few moss balls on a wood tray, and pom poms just because I love them and they make me happy.spring dining room

More greens on the dining room shelf that serves as my mantel. I got this sweet little boxwood planter on the dollar aisle at Target. Sadly they only had one left when I got to them, otherwise they’d be all over the house. And you can find that fabulous egg print here (one of my new favorite places for printables).

The living room got a pretty big update a couple of months ago, so the biggest change in there was swapping out the fur on the coffee table for something lighter. (Little tip: rugs make great coffee table runners.)

The dog wasn’t really feeling too happy about being kicked out of her spot for photos, so meet Winslow everyone–the dog that I love dearly and makes me want to rip my hair out EVERY. DAY.

And finally, the yard! Our backyard has been a major source of embarrassment and shame for me, but we’ve spent the last few weekends working our behinds off to kick it into shape! We’ve made lots of progress and spent all last weekend out by the fire, roasting marshmallows.

This is what it looked like three days ago when we were basking in 70 degree weather…simple back yard patio
…and this is what it looked like this afternoon (Wednesday). Ahhh, reality! Luckily, true to Utah form, we’re supposed to be back to 70’s by this weekend. e2_DSC0631

And that’s Spring at our house!! But don’t stop here. Be sure to head over to House Seven for more beautiful inspiration! And if you want even more, all of the stops on the tour are listed below.

I enjoy your decor. I’m wondering where you got the sign that says “Sometimes love believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast”. Very sweet.
