Remember that time I said I was going to start posting awesome DIY-deas on Fridays and then I sort of disappeared off the face of the earth? Well, I’m back, sort of. If you’re missing me terribly, I know you are, you can always find me on Instagram, my favorite addiction. I’m hoping to be back in the full swing of things and posting again next week, but I’m not kidding myself into making any sort of promises. I’ve sort of been going through a combination of “blog puberty,” random busy-ness, and a case of what my husband calls the “f-it’s.” Mostly the latter.
Anway, this week’s DIY Friday is all about things that are useful and beautiful. Enjoy!

I realized this week that I’m in desperate need of some bookends in a few places in my house, and I LOVE this option. These are moving to the top of my to-do list. Father’s day anyone? It’s around the corner and these would be totally rad for dad’s office.

I’ve also been on the hunt for a small ottoman, and as usual, I’m having a hard time finding something that’s exactly what I want. Anyone else get an EXACT picture in their head of what they want and then nothing else will do? It’s the hell I live in. Until I found this! Queue angels singing. Who doesn’t need a little extra seating–for your booty or your feet? It’s awesomely shabby modern..and seeing as how I STILL have drop cloth coming out my, well, you know…I think I can make this happen. Not to mention, these raw edges negate the need for piping which is right up my alley since I don’t really sew. Translation: I make my sister help me sew straight lines, and she does the hard stuff for me. Aren’t sister’s great?
DOWEL & DRAWER PULL CURTAIN ROD

Curtain rods can be expensive, and like most other things purchased en masse, don’t have a whole lot of personality. These are GENIUS! Stain them, add vintage knobs…you get the drift. The possibilities are endless and CHEAP!
CROSS STITCH PEG BOARD
My FAVORITE thing I’ve EVER found on Pinterest. THE END. Who doesn’t need a bright, giant-scale cross stitch to greet you when you walk through the door and hold your stuff?! And the added bonus of the pink stump table. Who has a stump I can have? Anyone?
Have a super fabulous weekend!
