Could it be?!! I’m here. I’m blogging. I’m back (trying anyway). If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me start to wade back in a little bit. It’s been almost a year and I honestly, from the bottom of my heart, have missed it and missed you all. Well, I’ve missed the good parts of it. I’ve missed my interactions with you, the creative outlet, sharing ideas–the fun stuff. The “business” of blogging, I’m not gonna’ lie, haven’t missed that part so much, it’s a big, big job, which is why it has taken a back seat (or no seat) for almost a whole year. Long (boring) story short, I really just took the last year to sort of soak up family and prioritize. After waiting for so long for baby number 2 and then being completely surprised by him just when we had given up hope, it kind of put a lot of things into perspective and made me just want to really soak up every bit of this first year and we have loved it! Also, I started a new project at work after being very part time for several years that has turned into something that is a lot less part time and consumes most of my free-time during the day. So between balancing working at home with a busy toddler and a busy nine year old, there hasn’t been a lot of time for much else. Also, that little baby–both my babies for that matter, are not so baby anymore. It’s so cliche, but it literally feels like I blinked. When I last checked in, life looked like this:
These days, it looks like this. Ugh, my heart! They are the BEST of buddies and just ADORE each other and it is the sweetest thing to watch. Also, they keep me on my toes. Especially him. I literally think I heard him cry maybe 10 times in his whole first year. In fact, I asked the doctor if I should be concerned because he was just so happy all the time. But I think he was giving me a little calm before the storm because WOAH! He is still the happiest little thing you’ve ever met…and also, the BUSIEST! I don’t remember my first being as curious and busy and IN. TO. EVERYTHING!!! He keeps me on my toes. Also, I thought with an eight year age gap, we’d miss a lot of the sibling bickering. I’m happy to report, while they adore each other, I still get to experience that joy too! Things around the house have changed a lot too. I was telling a friend the other day that I think I’ve done more around our house in my little hiatus, than I did over the past five years–like substantial changes that we’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and I haven’t bought a new pillow in like almost a year–it’s a change my husband can really get on board with. Last we left, things looked like this (mostly–this is Christmas 2016):Then around March, we decided to tear out the old board and batten and I seriously thought we had ruined our walls and were going to have to pay thousands of dollars to fix it. BUT, Chandler is constantly dazzling me with his skills and this is a little peek at where we are 8ish months later. Hopefully I’ll be back with all the details on this stuff soon.Anyway, that’s the not-so-quick rundown on life lately. Now onto what you probably came for. The Calendars. I am always so flattered when people ask me if I’m going to make these again each year. They’ve become one of my favorite gifts to give, so I’m glad that a lot of you enjoy them too. I really loved the simplicity of last year’s so I left them exactly the same, except for obviously updating the dates for 2019. And I was SUPER excited when I opened PicMonkey to add some of my photos and found they’ve made it SO MUCH EASIER to do these now. So if you use PicMonkey like I do for these, scroll down for instructions. If you don’t use PicMonkey, you should be able to open these in Microsoft publisher and add your photos (I’ll try to add directions for those eventually).
