It’s been a while since we had a 5 Minute Project around here, so today I thought I’d show you this quick little DIY Wood Bead Garland that I made. Have you seen these everywhere? They’re sort of that little “cherry on top” accessory that just makes you stop and go, “oooooo!” Also known in my house as “things husbands think are totally useless ” Like most quick projects around here, this one is pretty easy to figure out just by looking at the picture. I mean, if you learned to string a macaroni or Fruit Loop necklace in Kindergarten, you can probably figure this one out. You’ll notice, I also added some felt balls to mine, which is kind of fun if you want to add some sort of color (light blue would be beautiful and beachy, different colors for holidays…basically endless possibilities).
To make your own Wood Bead Garland, you’ll need:
(contains affiliate links)
Wood Beads of various sizes (I got mine on the woodworking aisle at Hobby Lobby)
Felt Balls
Yarn (I tried twine, it was too thick for the felt balls and it doesn’t show anyway)
Scissors
Large, Heavy-Duty Needle
Basically, thread the yarn through your needle and start stringing your beads. I didn’t do any real pattern with mine, just sort of grabbed them out of the bowl and threaded them on, adding a felt ball or two here and there as I went.
And that’s all there is to it my friends! It really doesn’t get any easier than that.
Super cute — love that you added some felt balls too! xo
Thank you!
