Dare I say it? It’s Election Day in America. Here’s to this day being over! AmIRight?!! Anyway, on a much more cheerful note, today I’m SO excited to be teaming up again with Lindsay from White Buffalo Styling Co. and lots of other talented friends to share some Thanksgiving inspiration. If you’re coming over from the amazingly talented A Creative Day, welcome! I’m so flattered that you took the time to click over and stop by! On Monday, I shared a more “formal” Thanksgiving table, but today I thought we’d venture out of the box a little and share what I thought was sort of a fun idea. A Thanksgiving Leftovers Brunch. I mean Thanksgiving leftovers + brunch + mimosas = YES! Right? All of my favorite things collide.
I should have probably called this post “ode to the cheese platter” because when I got done photographing, I realized my cheese love was very apparent in the number of photos of just the cheese board I had taken. Anyway, I mentioned the other day that I love Thanksgiving because it’s about family, but we also seem to have a lot of college friends that come into town to visit family this time of year, and I thought it would be fun to have friends over, share some drinks, and catch up, and hopefully help to eat some of those leftovers that seem to be never ending after the big dinner. OR, it’s a fun way to snack the morning away as you celebrate the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR and get all of those Christmas decorations out!
To keep it casual and no-fuss, I just rearranged a few of the things from my Thanksgiving Day table. I kept the muslin runner and added a scrap of pillow ticking fabric that I had. Then I took the eucalyptus from the middle of the table and put it in the vase. The eucalyptus had actually dried out, but I kind of love it that way too, so it stayed.
I made some simple napkins by just cutting tea towels in half, and then I rolled them up and tied them with twine and added a sprig of rosemary from my plant in the backyard. Which is still going strong by the way! It’s been 70 degrees here! Where is Fall?!!!
For the most important part: the food, I mentioned my 5th food group, cheese. And here’s a little winning tip: FIG JAM. It is INSANE!! Spread it on your cracker, add your cheese on top and be transported to Heaven. I’m not even kidding. Then some good crusty bread and leftover cranberries for the thing my husband lives for: leftover sandwiches. He likes to pile on mashed potatoes, cranberries, and turkey–it’s a sandwich that even bears his name: The Chandwich (his name is Chandler in case that doesn’t make sense ).
And now as I’m writing this at 1:00 a.m., I’m trying to avoid raiding the fridge for the rest of the cheese! I’m so excited to send you to the last stop on the tour, one of my biggest style crushes: House Seven. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving my friends (tomorrow, Christmas officially hits My Fabuless Life *happy dancing*).
Be sure to check out all of the other beautiful stops on the tour too!
